Sunita NARAIN, one of the most influential environmental activists in India and the Global South, will be at the Casino Syndical de Bonnevoie on November 22 to talk about the climate crisis and climate justice, at the invitation of Action Solidarité Tiers Monde – ASTM. As part of its 50th anniversary, the Luxembourgish development NGO is organising the conference „Climate justice in a climate risked world: the imperative for effective action“, a moment of reflection with Sunita NARAIN and the public on a very topical subject, especially in view of COP25 which will be held in early December in Madrid, Spain. Since 1982, Sunita Narain is the director of the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) based in Delhi and chief editor of the magazine, Down To Earth. In 2016, she was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine. She continues her research and writes about how environment must become the basis of livelihood security of people in India. She has also linked issues of local democracy with global democracy, arguing that every human being has an entitlement to the global atmospheric commons.
We invite you to stay with us after the conference and have a drink & fingerfoods together to celebrate our 50th anniversary
